Deepika Padukone Opens Up About Mom Guilt, Says She's 'Still Figuring Out' How To Get Back To Work
Deepika Padukone says motherhood will influence the kinds of roles she takes up in the future.

Deepika Padukone recently attended a Forbes event in Abu Dhabi and opened up about balancing being a new mother and a working woman. Deepika, who gave birth to her daughter Dua last year, expressed that she’s still figuring out how to get back to work and give proper time to care for her daughter. Deepika also reflected on how becoming a mother will influence the kinds of roles she takes up in the future.
Deepika Padukone said, “I think motherhood in itself has been so incredible that I’m sure somewhere, if not consciously, subconsciously it will influence the kind of movies and the roles that I choose to do moving forward. Having said that, I do believe that I’ve been pretty aware and conscious even before motherhood."

“I think where I’m at in my life right now is how do I manage my time as a mother, as a new mother, with getting back to–and I’m sure there’s some incredible women here who can give me some wise, some wisdom, whatever– but to be able manage my daughter and her life and getting back to work without feeling guilt. I think that is something I’m figuring out. I won’t say I am struggling with, but I’m still figuring it out," she added.
Deepika also talked about how motherhood has changed her priorities. She said that her latest Google search was parenting-related. “Definitely some mommy question like ‘when will my baby stop spitting up’ or something to that effect," she said, acknowledging how Dua is always on her mind.
On the work front, Deepika Padukone was last seen in Singham Again and Kalki 2898 AD. She is currently focussing on motherhood and will announce her next project soon. Deepika Padukone will also start filming the sequel of Kalki 2898 AD after her maternity leave. She also has the Indian remake of The Intern in the pipeline with Amitabh Bachchan.
