'Felt Like He Gave Love To Me': Sivakarthikeyan On His Cameo In Thalapathy Vijay's GOAT
Sivakarthikeyan spoke about his cameo in Thalapathy Vijay’s GOAT and opened up about the passing of the baton scene.

South actor Sivakarthikeyan is celebrating the success of his latest biographical action film, Amaran. Apart from him, the film also features Sai Pallavi, Bhuvan Arora and Rahul Bose in key roles. After eight days of its theatrical run, the Rajkumar Periasamy-directed film earned Rs 114 crore at the domestic box office, as per Sacnilk. Following this success, Amaran’s cast and crew sat for an interview with Pinkvilla.
While interacting with the media outlet, the 39-year-old actor spoke about his cameo in Thalapathy Vijay’s most recent release, The Greatest of All Time (GOAT). Explaining the significance of the passing of the baton scene, Sivakarthikeyan said, “His legacy is his own and no one can touch that or take it from him. I see that as a very sweet scene where our senior, a very big star, is sharing the screen with the next-generation star."

He further highlighted Thalapathy Vijay’s struggles and battles to reach such a level of stardom and said that passing of the baton meant that the South superstar was giving his love to him. “I felt he is giving his love to me, that’s how I perceived it and I’ve taken it that way. His journey of over 30 years has been filled with his struggles and battles to reach this level, so I can’t just go and take that and say, ‘From now on, I will continue that.’ It’s not that way," he mentioned, adding that he would forever remember his cameo in the Tamil-language action thriller.
Sharing his thoughts further on the same matter, Sivakarthikeyan recalled his tweet when Thalapathy Vijay’s 2012 film Thuppakki was released. He talked about the tweet, saying that it was along the lines which meant that those people who had tickets for Thuppakki were way cooler than those who had guns. The 39-year-old actor then heaped praises on Thalapathy, sharing how he has learnt so much from him.
“It’s very special for me. So, I don’t see that as passing on a baton or something. I learn good things from all my senior stars. I learn all the good things from them and I’ll try to incorporate that and give good films or bigger hit films like them. But I’ll never think, ‘I want to be them,’" Sivakarthikeyan said in the same interview.
Thalapathy Vijay’s The Greatest of All Time was released in September 2024 and has emerged as Tamil cinema’s highest-grossing film of 2024.
