Kayadu Lohar said she aspires to be a source of inspiration for young girls.

Actress-model Kayadu Lohar rose to fame with her role in Dragon, marking her Tamil industry debut. Following the success of the Ashwath Marimuthu-directed film, she has been showered with love and appreciation for her stellar performance. However, her journey to success was far from easy. Now, she aspires to be a source of inspiration for young girls from similar backgrounds, encouraging them to chase their dreams
“It’s difficult for a girl from a lower middle-class family to follow and fulfil her dreams. So, I want to do that for myself and pave a path for the girls who are dreaming of achieving theirs," said Kayudu during a conversation with the Times of India. Her journey in the entertainment industry began when her mother encouraged her to participate in Times Fresh Face season 12.

Crediting the platform for giving her a chance to kickstart her career in showbiz, Kayudu revealed, “During college, my mother asked me to participate in Times Fresh Face Season 12, as it was the holiday season. I did and won the competition, and that’s when a casting director approached me for an ad. Soon after, I got to do my first Kannada film (Mugilpete)."
While she might have entered the industry in her early adulthood, the actress’ love for acting began at an early age when she was merely five or six years old. In the same interview, the 24-year-old actress recalled how she used to dance to Chaiyya Chaiyya and imitate Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi. While it took her time to decide whether she wanted to pursue acting, Kayadu always had a knack for it. Little did she know that nearly two decades later, she would be among the emerging talents in the industry.
Speaking about the success of her latest film, Dragon, Kayadu mentioned, “The response that Dragon has received has been surreal. Directors and producers now see potential in me. Before Dragon, no one knew who Kayadu was. Now, the audience loves my character in the film and still knows me as Kayadu. It’s very difficult to crack that. And I’m getting the kind of projects that I’ve always dreamt of, so I’m blessed to receive all this love."
After Dragon, Kayadu has Aakash Baskaran’s coming-of-the-age Tamil film Idhayam Murali opposite Atharvaa and Silambarasan TR’s upcoming film in the pipeline.
