Kim Soo Hyun is at the centre of controversy following the tragic death of actress Kim Sae Ron. The Queen of Tears star is getting backlash from many. However, Kim Sae Ron’s ex-boyfriend, identified as K, has come forward to clear the actor’s name. K has made some eye-opening revelations by claiming that Kim Sae Ron suffered the most because her family did not care for her and she was in an abusive relationship with a man she secretly married in New York. K criticised Kim Sae Ron’s family for blaming others, like Kim Soo Hyun and a YouTuber, for her death, stating that they showed little care for her while she was alive.
Speaking with The Fact, K said, “As someone who knew Sae Ron better than anyone else, it’s absurd to me that her aunt suddenly appears, claims to be part of her bereaved family and is now pushing the narrative that Kim Sae Ron died because of Kim Soo Hyun. Why do you think her biological parents aren’t the ones stepping forward? Don’t you think it might be because they are the ones she wanted to escape from? How can a daughter get married without her family knowing?"

“The fact that none of them knew about her getting married to the New York man proves how little communication there was between them. They hardly cared when she was alive. But now that she’s gone, they’re digging up a relationship from years ago with a famous actor? There has to be an ulterior motive behind this. I’ve never met Kim Soo Hyun, but I can only imagine how wronged he must feel, getting so much backlash just because he’s a popular celebrity," the individual added.
K shared messages from Kim Sae Ron, revealing her struggles with her husband’s troubling behaviour. In the texts, she warned K about her husband’s aggressive nature, advising him to block him on social media. K expressed frustration over the rude and hostile messages he kept receiving from her husband. Apologizing for the situation, Kim Sae Ron admitted feeling trapped, describing her husband as unstable, constantly insulting and hurting her. When K suggested reporting him, she explained that she couldn’t because he was American. Her repeated apologies underscored her deep sense of helplessness.
Reportedly, Kim Sae Ron met her husband in November 2024 and got married in 2025. After he started abusing the actress, she began sharing her problems with her ex-boyfriend. When her husband found out that she was in contact with her ex, he took away her phone and started keeping an eye on her. He even sent abusive messages to her ex-boyfriend and threatened to kill him.
