Salman Khan Reacts To 31-Year Age Gap with Sikandar Co-Star Rashmika Mandanna: 'Pati Ka Permission...'
Salman Khan addressed the age gap with Rashmika Mandanna in Sikandar. He also praised her dedication despite health issues.

Salman Khan addressed conversations around his 30-year age gap with Sikandar co-star, Rashmika Mandanna. Bollywood’s Bhaijaan, as usual, chose wit to deal with questions about their age gap. Salman, along with the film’s star cast and makers, were at the trailer launch of Sikandar in Mumbai on Sunday, March 23.
Salman Khan, 59, had a witty response when asked about his age gap with Rashmika Mandanna, 28. Addressing the media, the superstar said, “Phir vo bolte hain 31 years ka difference hai heroine aur mujh mein. Jab heroine ko problem nahi hain, heroine ke father ko problem nahi hain, tumko kya problem hain? Kal jab inki shaadi ho jayegi, bacche ho jaenge, toh unke sath bhi kaam karenge. Pati ka permission toh mil hi jayega na? (The heroine’s father has no problem. Tomorrow, when she gets married and has children, she will still continue working. She will get her husband’s permission, right?)"

Salman further lauded Rashmika’s professionalism. “She has given her best. She was shooting for Pushpa 2. She would finish shooting by 7pm and join us for shoot from 9pm. She used to work with us til 6.30 in the morning and then go back to work for Pushpa 2 and she was not well as well too."
The praises continued: “And then, after breaking her leg, she shot with us and didn’t cancel a single day. She reminds me a lot of me, younger me."
This is the first time that Salman is paired opposite Rashmika for a film. When the news first came out, a section of social media users weren’t too happy with the pairing. Netizens pointed out how Salman always choose younger actors as his female lead. Neither the superstar nor the makers had then commented on the matter.
Meanwhile, the trailer of Sikandar was dropped on March 23. Salman returned with his usual swag in a power-packed form, beating and punching goons for their wrongdoings. The film was shot with heavy security amid death threats for the actor.
Sikandar is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film releases on March 30.
