Salman Khan Says Sikandar Director AR Murugadoss Made Him Shoot 14-Hours Daily Despite Rib Injury

Salman Khan will be back this Eid with a major release! His upcoming film, Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, is all set to hit theatres on March 30, 2025. The grand trailer launch of the political thriller was held on Sunday, March 23, in Mumbai. Sikandar also marks Murugadoss’ first collaboration with Salman, hence the expectations are at an all time high.
At the trailer launch event, the Bollywood superstar was seen talking about his experience working on Sikandar sets. Khan shared an interesting anecdote to reveal how Murugadoss constantly pushed him, especially in action sequences, to bring out his best. Salman also revealed that he did early morning shoots for Sikandar, something which he has always avoided before for his previous films.

Not just that, Salman Khan even committed to 14-hour shoot schedules even while he was recovering from a major rib injury. He recalled shooting from 7 am to 9 pm on some days despite the injury. “Murugadoss kept pushing me even in action sequences," Khan shared. He further joked, “When the going gets tough, the tough get going."
Meanwhile, after photos of Salman Khan looking a bit “out of shape" went viral, fans started worrying about his fitness. Clearing the air, the actor explained that it was just due to lack of sleep and nothing more. “Kabhi 5-6 din se sote nahi toh log photo daal ke bol dete hain. But I wanted to show them ki abhi bhi hai. (Sometimes, when I haven’t slept properly for 5–6 days, people post my photos and make assumptions. But I wanted to show them I still have it in me.)"
Also starring Rashmika Mandanna and Sathyaraj, Sikandar is set to hit the big screen next Sunday (March 30), perfectly timed with Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations. The film boasts stunning cinematography by S. Thirunavukarasu, with Vivek Harshan handling the edits. Pritam has composed the soundtrack, featuring lyrics by Sameer, while the background score has been crafted by acclaimed South Indian composer Santhosh Narayanan.
