Nick Jonas Opens Up About Having Malti With Priyanka Chopra: 'The Fact That I’m Just Dad When...'
Nick Jonas says the best part of being Malti's dad is that she wants to play Moana and Maui with him, not caring about his fame.

Nick Jonas may be a global pop star, actor, and Broadway performer, but to his daughter Malti Marie, he’s just “Dad."
The 32-year-old singer, who shares 2-and-a-half-years-old Malti with wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas, recently opened up about the joys of fatherhood while speaking to PEOPLE at JONASCON. Jonas admitted that while he may feel like the “coolest" person on stage, none of it matters when he’s at home with his little one.

“The best part about being a dad for me, and balancing things like this work stuff — and this is hardly work — is that you could feel like your coolest self on top of the world, and she just doesn’t care at all," Jonas said with a laugh.
“She wants to play Moana and Maui with me, and that means more to me than anything else. That time with her is precious, and the fact that I’m just ‘Dad’ when I’m home means a lot," he added.
Just days ago, Jonas gave fans a glimpse into his “girl dad" life by posting a selfie wearing one of Malti’s hairbows and a flower clip, with pink balloons in the background. “Girl dad life," he captioned the sweet photo.
While Malti remains blissfully unaware of her dad’s stardom, her cousin Alena, 11, is starting to understand the Jonas Brothers’ fame. Kevin Jonas, Nick’s older brother, shared that his daughter is now asking for perks related to her dad’s celebrity status.
“Clout is starting to happen with my older one," Kevin said. “She’s like, ‘Dad, can I get my own box to invite my friends to the show on the 10th?’" he recounted, referencing the band’s upcoming JONAS20: Living the Dream Tour, which kicks off on August 10 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
“I was like, ‘I’ll see what I can do for you, babe,’" Kevin joked. “But yeah, we’re at that point. It’s exciting. I love it."
Reflecting on their family life, Kevin added, “I’m proud to be their dad, number one. But the fact that they’re proud of me and us, it’s great."
