Sreeleela Wants To Be Recognised As An Actor And Not A Dancer; Here's Why
Sreeleela has delivered a number of foot-tapping dance numbers, including songs like Kurchi Madathapetti and Kissik.
South India’s sensation Sreeleela has been capturing the hearts of millions across the country with her impeccable dance skills and expressive performances. From Kurchi Madathapetti in Guntur Kaaram to Kissik in Pushpa 2: The Rule, the actress’ on-screen presence has enhanced the visual experience for fans. However, it seems like Sreeleela is no longer happy with her image as a dancer. At a time when the actress is ready to make her big Bollywood debut with Kartik Aaryan‘s upcoming film, she also wants to be recognised as an actor.
During a recent event in Hyderabad, Sreeleela voiced her thoughts after an anchor gave her introduction with the remarks, “Leela means song, song means dance, and dance means Leela." Unhappy with the same, Sreeleela instantly pointed him out and said, “That is why, in this movie, I worked on making it ‘Leela means dialogue, dialogue means performance, and performance means Leela." The incident took place during the press meeting for her recent film, Robinhood. The actress was also accompanied by her co-star, actor Nithiin.

It is worth mentioning that the actress has delivered some of the most beloved dance numbers, with the most recent one in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2.
On the work front, a teaser of the Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela starrer musical movie was officially unveiled, confirming the actress’s Bollywood debut opposite the Shehzada actor. While Kartik is seen in a rugged look with long hair and a beard, seemingly as a rockstar, Sreeleela is likely the protagonist’s love interest. Directed by Anurag Basu, while the film’s title is yet to be announced, it will be released around Diwali 2025.
On the other hand, Sreeleela has recently been in the headlines over dating rumours with Kartik Aaryan. The speculations gained momentum at the recent IIFA 2025 where filmmaker Karan Johar asked his co-host, Kartik Aaryan’s mother, Dr Mala Tiwari to choose a life partner for her son. It was then that Mrs Tiwari revealed that her daughter-in-law would be a doctor, leaving Karan Johar to refer to Sreeleela.
