Unni Mukundan initially tried to ignore the fan, hoping he would back off. But when the person kept filming him up close, his patience wore thin. But it quickly faded when Mukundan gave him a serious glare, making it clear that he was genuinely upset.

The moment quickly became a talking point online, with people sharing mixed reactions. Some felt Mukundan’s reaction was too harsh, while others sympathised with him, pointing out that celebrities also deserve personal space. Many argued that while fans’ excitement is understandable, there’s a fine line between admiration and intrusion.
“During the budding stage you encourage them and now you get irritated when the same fans approach you," a user wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Well done… he didn’t even resist while unni felt uncomfortable filming him," another user wrote.
The actor hasn’t spoken about the incident yet.
Last seen in a violent role in Marco, Unni has now embraced the role of a romantic hero in his new film Get Set Baby, where he will play the role of a gynaecologist. Directed by Vinay Govind, the comedy-drama features a stellar cast, including Nikhila Vimal, Chemban Vinod Jose, Shyam Mohan, Surabhi Lakshmi, Johny Antony, and Sudheesh.
In a recent interview with On Manorama, Unni spoke about his return to the romance genre and admitted that his latest role was both interesting and challenging as he stepped away from his usual roles. In fact, for the past seven years, none of his movies have featured a female lead alongside him. “In the past seven years, if you have noticed, I have not played a romantic hero in my films, from Meppadiyan till Marco. So, I found it quite challenging. I think you could call it my limitation as an actor," he said.
It is also worth noting that the 37-year-old actor has maintained a firm no-kissing policy in his films and has steered clear of romance for years. Explaining the reason behind his policy, Unni added, “I have a no-kissing, no-intimate scene rule that I follow in all my films. I want my movies to be appealing to all kinds of audiences."
Unni Mukundan’s Get Set Baby released in theatres on February 21.
