A man in Thailand was left stunned after discovering a whole snake frozen inside an ice cream bar he had purchased from a street vendor. The incident, which took place in Pak Tho, Mueang Ratchaburi, caught the attention of social media users online after the man, named Rayban Naklengboon, shared images of the shocking find on Facebook.

“Such big eyes! Is it dead yet? Black bean, street vendor, real picture because I bought it myself," he wrote in Thai in the caption. Black bean is a common ice cream flavour in the country.

In the pictures, the head of the black-and-yellow snake was visible. Many speculated that it was a golden tree snake, Chrysopelea ornata, a mildly venomous species commonly found in the region. While these snakes typically grow between 70 and 130 cm in length, the one inside the ice cream appeared to be a juvenile. It is likely to measure between 20 and 40 cm.

While some users were horrified, others couldn’t resist making jokes in the comment section.

One person quipped, “The first bite gets you hooked, the next puts you in a hospital bed."

Another commented, “Leave your last words before placing an order."

“It should be a new flavour, ice cream with a snack flavour," an individual jokingly wrote.

The discovery also raised serious concerns about food safety. Many questioned how an entire snake could end up in the ice cream. Some urged authorities to investigate the matter. It wasn’t clear which company had manufactured the ice cream.

Such incidents are not just limited beyond the borders. Back home, many similar cases grabbed attention last year which raised serious concerns about food safety. One such case was from Bihar’s Banka where students at a government engineering college discovered pieces of a snake in their mess food. Eleven students fell sick after consuming the meal and had to be hospitalised with symptoms of nausea and vomiting.
