A 33-year-old passenger was arrested for allegedly masturbating during a SWISS Air flight from Zurich to Dresden. The incident took place on Flight LX918, causing alarm among fellow travelers on Monday morning.

Around 7:40 am, about halfway through the 73-minute flight, a passenger alerted the cabin crew that the man had his hands in his pants. Disturbed by the man’s actions, the passenger requested to be moved to a different seat. The crew repeatedly warned the man before he ceased his inappropriate behavior, according to Blick report.

Upon arrival in Dresden, the Dresden Federal Police detained the suspect, a German national. He admitted to being “active" in the presence of two female passengers but claimed he was unaware of any wrongdoing since he did not expose his genitals. The man is currently under investigation for causing a public nuisance.

The police confirmed the incident, describing it as an “unusual incident that exceeded the bounds of good behavior." A SWISS spokesperson also confirmed the event, stating that the crew had issued a warning to the passenger and handed him over to authorities upon landing in Dresden.

In 2024, a 39-year-old Indian man, Krishna Kunapuli, was caught masturbating on a flight to Boston, according to federal prosecutors. Kunapuli was reportedly seen exposing himself and masturbating under a blanket during the Etihad Airlines flight from Abu Dhabi to Boston Logan International Airport on October 21.

According to court documents, two male passengers witnessed Kunapuli’s actions after he allegedly made unwanted sexual advances toward a female passenger and photographed her. He was taken into custody upon the flight’s arrival in Boston.

    A similar incident surfaced in Boston last year where an Indian-origin doctor was accused of masturbating next to a 14-year-old girl on a plane. However, the court later cleared him of any wrongdoing this week as he was found not guilty.

    The doctor later said the accusation led to a difficult time for him and his family and he was confused why these accusations were levelled against him.
