Noida International Airport, the country’s largest, is currently under construction in Greater Noida, with commercial flights slated to commence this April. The interchange connecting Jewar International Airport to the Greenfield Expressway is nearing completion, and trials using light vehicles are scheduled to begin next week. Preparations for these trials are already underway.

Speaking to Local18, officials of the Yamuna Development Authority stated that following the completion of the reinforced cement concrete (RCC) work, the final layer of tar has been laid on the interchange. They added, “Only finishing work is ongoing, which will be completed by next week."

    The interchange, with a total length of 750 metres, features eight lanes. It will serve as a crucial link, connecting the airport to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.

    The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is constructing a 13 km long, six-lane Greenfield Expressway under the Bharatmala Project, at a cost of Rs 2,241.4 crore.

      The construction of approximately 1,300 metres of road connecting the Yamuna Expressway interchange to the Noida International Airport complex is ongoing. However, due to incomplete sections, there might be a slight delay in the trial. Officials have stated that the road will be completed soon. The ballast placement has been finalised, and work on the remaining sections is progressing rapidly.

      The interchange, constructed near Uttar Pradesh’s Dayanatpur village, will connect the expressway to Noida International Airport. The 22 km expressway runs along the Haryana border, with a 9 km stretch within Jewar. This 9 km section will reach the airport, passing through land belonging to six villages.
