Uber launches 'Uber for Teens' in 37 Indian cities, offering safe, parent-supervised rides for teens aged 13–17 with GPS tracking and real-time updates.

Uber has just launched ‘Uber for Teens’ in India – a new service specially made for teenagers aged 13 to 17.

This new option aims to provide safe, reliable, and easy travel for teenagers while giving peace of mind to parents.

    The service is now available in 37 cities, including major areas like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Chandigarh, Lucknow, and Bhubaneswar.

    What’s Special About Uber for Teens?

    Uber for Teens comes with strong safety features:

    • GPS tracking
    • Real-time ride updates
    • An in-app emergency button

    Parents play a key role in this new setup. They can create a Teen account, track their child’s journey live, and receive detailed ride summaries. They also have the option to book rides on their child’s behalf.

      • Parents can create a teen account through their own verified Uber app.
      • Teens then set up their account and add their parents as guardians.
      • Once set up, teens can start booking rides themselves.
      • Parents get instant updates for every trip and can also book rides on behalf of their teens.

      A recent survey by Uber shows that 92 percent of parents said their teens had missed out on activities due to lack of transport. 72 percent said safety was their biggest concern. In fact, 93 percent of parents said they would use a reliable ridesharing service for teens if it was available – with 64% saying they’d use it regularly.
