Uttarakhand: New Shuttle Service Launched For Kainchi Dham Pilgrims, Details Inside
Uttarakhand launches a shuttle service from 26 March 2025 for Kainchi Dham pilgrims, easing traffic with designated parking and weekend heavy vehicle restrictions.

To manage the increasing number of devotees visiting Kainchi Dham temple in Bhowali, Nainital district, and to reduce traffic congestion, the Uttarakhand government has introduced a dedicated shuttle service from 26 March 2025.

Kainchi Dham, founded by the revered Neem Karoli Baba, is now a globally recognised spiritual destination. The temple sees a surge of visitors, particularly during festivals and weekends, leading to severe traffic jams on the narrow approach roads.
The newly launched shuttle service will help control the traffic flow and make travel more convenient for devotees, as per Money Control.
Parking & Shuttle Service Details
To control vehicle movement near the temple, authorities have set up designated parking zones where visitors can leave their private vehicles and board the shuttle service.
- For travellers via Haldwani (Bhimtal route): Parking available at Industrial Area Bhimtal parking lot.
- For travellers via Haldwani (Jyolikot-Bhowali route): Parking near Bhowali Sanatorium, about 1.5 km from Kainchi Bypass.
Shuttle Timings
The service will run at different timings based on the crowd size:
- Weekdays: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Weekends: 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM (due to higher footfall)
To ensure a hassle-free experience, additional traffic restrictions will be in place:
- Heavy vehicles will not be allowed in the Kainchi Dham area between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM on weekends and festival days.
- Traffic personnel will be deployed to monitor and regulate vehicle movement.
