Have you received a message asking you to download and install an APK file to redeem SBI rewards? If yes, stay vigilant and spread the word—this is a scam. Fraudsters are sending messages urging users to download a file named “SBI REWARD27..APK" under the guise of redeeming rewards from the State Bank of India.

Once installed, these malicious APK files can compromise your personal data and financial security.

    The PIB Fact Check unit has also issued a warning through social media platform X, cautioning the public about this scam and advising everyone to exercise extreme caution. It has asked the public to not download unknown files or click on such links.

    “If you receive a message asking you to download an APK file to redeem SBI rewards, do not download it. Avoid clicking on unknown links or files," the X post said.
