'Bowlers Get Very Little...': Shardul Thakur Wants Fair Pitches As Run Fests Continue
Shardul Thakur walked away with the Player of the Match award after his figures of 4/34 helped restrict the Sunrisers Hyderabad to 190/9.

Star India all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who is currently playing for the Lucknow Super Giants and played a match-winning role for the team against the hard-hitting Sunrisers Hyderabad, has said that bowlers don’t get much to work with on pitches like the one in Hyderabad on Thursday and asked for fairer ones.
Thakur said that to maintain a balance between bat and ball, teams should be provided with pitches which has something in store for both parties.

“I feel bowlers get very little on this kind of pitches. Even in the last game pre-match, I said that pitches should be prepared in such a way that the game hangs in the balance for batters and bowlers," Thakur said while speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony.
“Especially after the impact player rule, it is not fair on the bowlers if a team scores 240-250 runs," Thakur added.
The star India all-rounder took the wickets of Abhishek Sharma (6) and Ishan Kishan (0) with consecutive deliveries in his opening spell as Hyderabad were reduced to 15/2 in just the third over.
“Of course, some swing and what we have seen is that Travis Head and Abhishek like to take their chances, so let me take my chances as well," Thakur said.
The Lucknow all-rounder sent Abhishek packing with a short ball before getting Kishan caught behind off an innocuous ball down the leg side.
Travis Head (47 off 28), however, looked in ominous form as he took the attack to the opposition and used his brute power to deal in fours and sixes.
Head was brutal against Avesh Khan, who sprayed the ball on both sides, with the Aussie smacking him for two sixes and one boundary to pick up 18 runs in the fourth over.
Shardul is coming off a brilliant Ranji Trophy season, where he scored 505 runs in nine matches at an average of 42 with one hundred and four fifties to his name. He also picked 35 wickets in those matches at an impressive economy of 3.37.
