In his last IPL match against Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Will Jacks scored a century in 42 balls for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Five-time champions Mumbai Indians are taking on Gujarat Titans in match No. 9 of IPL 2025 on Saturday (March 29). The second league stage match of the ongoing 18th season of the world’s richest franchise cricket league for both the teams is currently underway at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. England all-rounder Will Jacks and Kerala spinner Vignesh Puthur are not playing for MI today, which has raised a few eyebrows.
Vignesh made his IPL debut for MI on March 23 against Chennai Super Kings and picked up three wickets for 32 runs in four overs. He is neither part of MI’s playing XI nor included in the impact player’s list. During the toss, Hardik didn’t reveal the reason for Puthur’s absence, but there is a high possibility that he is either dealing with an injury issue or is unwell.
Jacks, on the other hand, made way for Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman. IPL teams are allowed to include only four overseas players in the playing XI, and Ryan Rickelton, Trent Boult and Mitchell Santner are MI’s first-choice three overseas stars.
Meanwhile, Hardik has replaced Robin Minz in MI’s playing XI. Minz made his IPL debut against CSK on Sunday (March 23) in Chennai but was only able to score three runs from nine balls as a No. 6 batter.
However, there is a possibility that he could come in as an impact player for MI in the second half of the match.
