India Vs England: Yashasvi Jaiswal And Harshit Rana Make ODI Debuts
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Harshit Rana were presented with their ODI caps right before the toss for the series opener between India and England in Nagpur.

Rising batting star Yashasvi Jaiswal and rookie pacer Harshit Rana will make their ODI debuts for India in Nagpur. Both Jaiswal and Rana have already represented India in Tests and T20Is.
India and England are squaring off in a three-match ODI series with the opening match to be played at the Vidarbha Cricket Stadium today.

Jaiswal, a top-order batter, has already proven himself in Tests and T20Is. Earmarked for greatness, the Mumbai batter has 1798 runs at an average of 52.88 from 19 Tests while in 23 T20Is, he has scored 723 runs at a strike-rate of 164.31.

On the other hand, Harshit Rana made his Test debut in November last year during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. He has four wickets from two Tests so far.
He made his T20I debut during the recent five-match series with England after coming in as concussion substitute for Shivam Dube during the 4th match in Pune. The 23-year-old played a key role in India’s thrilling win with bowling figures of 3/33 as the hosts took a decisive 3-1 lead.
Also featuring in the playing XI is Mohammed Shami whose last ODI was the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup. The seasoned fast bowler was pushed to the sidelines due to an ankle issue for which he underwent a surgery. He made his international return during the five-match T20I series against England recently.
India and England are squaring off in a three-match ODI series which will serve as a tune-up for Champions Trophy 2025 that starts from February 19.
