Gujarat Titans picked up their second win at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday with a 7-wicket triumph over the visitors.

GT managed to contain SRH to a total of 162 runs for the loss of 8 wickets as seamer Mohit Sharma scalped three wickets in his four overs to put a lid on the Hyderabad batting order before the hosts scaled the target in 19.1 overs.

    As Ravi Shastri welcomed the seamer to receive his man of the match award with a joke stating that the pacer seemed to get better with age, Mohit responded with a jest of his own.

    “Thank you sir for reminding me that I’m getting older day by day," the 36-year-old joked.

    Sharma shed light on the importance of using bowling variations in accordance with the in-game situations.

    “Practice is normal but the important thing is how to use the variation according to the game situation," he opined.

    “Bowlers do have variations but it matters when and how to use it," the pacer continued.

    “It’s important when you have two balls in mind, the batters are also ready, they are ready for the slower bouncer but they are not ready for the slower short ball wide of the wicket so I mix and match," he revealed.

    The game condition are altered during the course of the fixture due to the onset of dew in Indian conditions and Sharma said that it helps to practice with a wet ball keeping the same in mind.

    “Dew is uncontrollable and we practice bowling with a wet ball," he said.

    Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed produced good shows with the ball and supported the seamer, who praised his teammates for coming back strong after having been taken for some runs early on in the game.

    “Rashid and Noor bowled well, we went for a few runs in the back end but we came back well in the final few overs," Sharma said.

      He concluded by stating that he has the habit of reflecting on his performances after the games to make improvements where needed.

      “When it’s going good, I enjoy. When the match gets over, I like to reflect where I did well and where I didn’t," he signed off.
