IPL 2025: Gujarat Titans' Kagiso Rabada Returns Home For Personal Reasons, Return Yet To Be Confirmed
Kagiso Rabada has returned home due to personal reasons. His return to the Gujarat Titans has yet to be confirmed.

Gujarat Titans have revealed that their star pacer, Kagiso Rabada, has returned home due to personal reasons. The length of his absence has yet to be confirmed. The 29-year-old remains an experienced addition to the GT squad, and his absence will be a big blow to the franchise in the coming games for the Indian Premier League 2025.
“Kagiso Rabada has returned to South Africa to deal with an important personal matter," the Gujarat Titans said in a statement as quoted by PTI.

His last appearance in the IPL was against the Mumbai Indians in their recent home game on Saturday (March 29, 2025).
In addition, he was also not picked for yesterday’s game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Arshad Khan, the left-arm pacer, was roped in as his replacement for the playing XI. He delivered the big wicket of Virat Kohli early in the second innings as GT went on to take the win by 8 wickets and 13 balls to spare.
The Titans have decent bench strength as they could call on the fellow Proteas pacer, Gerald Coetzee, as his replacement or even Afghanistan’s Karim Janat to boost the middle-order batting even further. But Rabada’s experience remains a big absence in the side considering his experience playing for franchises like Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals and his international caps playing for South Africa in all three formats.
Rabada has amassed 327 wickets in 70 Tests, 168 wickets in 106 ODIs and 71 wickets in 65 T20Is to make him one of South Africa’s most reliable pacers across all three formats.
GT, despite beginning their campaign with a loss against PBKS, have found their winning momentum after beating both Mumbai Indians and RCB in their last two fixtures. The franchise will hope to make it a hat-trick of wins as they take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad in an away game on April 6, 2025 (Sunday).
The franchise will hope that they can get Rabada as soon as possible to get their fast-bowling attack back to full strength.
