LSG’s wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran is leading the Orange Cap race. The left-handed batter, who was retained for Rs 21 crore by the Lucknow-based franchise, has 145 runs to his name in two matches played so far. He hammered 75 runs from 30 balls against Delhi Capitals on March 24 and scored 70 from just 26 balls against SRH on March 27.
Pooran will be in action for the Rishabh Pant-led side on Tuesday (April 1) during their third league stage match against Punjab Kings, which will be played in Lucknow.
In the list of leading run scorers, Pooran is followed by GT’s Sai Sudharsan and LSG’s Mitchell Marsh. Like Pooran, Sudharsan and Marsh have also scored two fifties in two matches played so far.
