IPL 2025 Points Table: Gujarat Titans posted a 36-run win over visiting Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025 encounter between the side at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday to pick up their first win of the nascent season and climb to third in the league standings, behind table-toppers Royal Challengers Bengaluru and second-placed Lucknow Super Giants.
GT restricted MI to a total of 160/6 in 20 overs as they successfully defended their score of 196. GT were put to bat first after MI skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to have a field first. But, the decision broke in favour of the hosts as openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill put up a 78-run stand for the first wicket.

Sudharsan ended up as his side’s top scorer with 63 runs off his willow, while Gill and Jos Buttler chipped in with sizeable 38 and 39 run contributions, respectively.
Gujarat kept Mumbai at bay throughout the innings during the chase as they never let the visitors settle into their own. MI lost wickets in regular intervals and failed to build meaningful partnerships save for the one between Suryakumar Yadav, who made 48 runs before falling to Prasidh, and Tilak Varma, who added 29 runs, before also being done in by the GT pacer.
Mumbai Indians remain ninth in the league, winless after their opening two games as they succumbed to Gujarat on the back of their defeat to Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk in their curtain-raiser. Rajasthan Royals are the only other team who are yet winless in the campaign as all the other teams have won atleast a solitary game.
