IPL 2025 Points Table, Updated Standings After MI vs KKR:

A scintillating four-fer by Indian pacer Ashwani Kumar, coupled with an unbeaten quickfire fifty by Ryan Rickleton, helped Mumbai Indians register their first win of the IPL 2025 season on Monday, shooting them up to sixth in the standings, while the loss cursed defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders to dead last in the IPL 2025 table.

The 23-year-old Ashwani from Punjab’s Jhanjeri became the first Indian ever to take four wickets on their IPL debut as he ended with figures of 4/24 to blow away KKR’s star-studded batting lineup.

With only four senior T20 matches in his kitty apart from four List A games and two Ranji Trophy matches, Ashwani’s rich returns heralded the domination shown by MI’s seamers.

Deepak Chahar (2/19), Trent Boult (1/23), and Hardik Pandya (1/10) ensured a collective bowling performance, helping MI restrict KKR to a modest total of 116, which the home side chased down with more than seven overs to spare.

There was no doubting the MI batters, who got off to a blazing start in the chase, thanks to an unbeaten 62* from Ryan Rickleton. KKR had no hope, despite Varun Chakravarthy’s attempts to slow down the MI scoring.

Rickleton finally found his stride, dominating every bowler he faced, to bring up his maiden IPL fifty. Suryakumar Yadav came in to add the finishing touches, nothing up 27* off 9 balls, and finishing off in style with a huge six off Russell.
