The Chennai Super Kings have jumped to seventh in the points table thanks to their superior net run-rate despite their loss against the Rajasthan Royals, who now go up to ninth after their first win of the season.

The Riyan Parag-leg Rajasthan Royals managed to pick up their first win of the campaign in what was a thrilling contest against the Chennai Super Kings that went down to the wire. Nitish Rana’s 81 and Wanindu Hasaranga’s four-wicket haul proved to be the difference-makers for the side in the match that was held in Guwahati.
Earlier, Delhi Capitals went on to register their second consecutive win after a dominant display against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who have now lost two games on the bounce. DC are now sitting at second in the points table while SRH are down low at the eighth position despite the terrific start to the campaign. Mitchell Starc was key for the Capitals as he registered his first five-wicket haul in the IPL while Faf du Plessis led the batting charge with a quickfire fifty which powered their chase to victory.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad looked to maintain their explosive approach but were unable to get going with the bat and relied on a brilliant knock by Aniket Verma, who smashed 74 runs off 41 balls to get them to a defendable score. But the total was not enough as DC managed to set the tone thanks to their opening pair of Jake Fraser-McGurk alongside du Plessis who stitched an 81-run stand in 9.1 overs, laying the foundation for a smooth chase.
