IPL 2025 Points Table, Updated Standings After RCB vs GT: Gujarat Titans (GT) shook up the IPL 2025 points table by beating Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 14 of the tournament at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday (April 14). Jos Buttler’s half-century and excellent spells from Mohammed Siraj and R Sai Kishore helped the visitors keep RCB down to 169/8 and chase it in just 17.5 overs.
Siraj won the Player of the Match against his old franchise for setting up the win. It was Arshad Khan who removed Virat Kohli early but Siraj piled on RCB’s misery by getting Devdutt Padikkal and Phil Salt in quick succession soon after. Ishant Sharma followed that with Rajat Patidar’s wicket, bringing RCB to 42/4.

They recovered through Liam Livingstone’s half-century and Jitesh Sharma’s 33. The brilliant Sai Kishore jolted them with two wickets — Sharma and Krunal Pandya — in the middle overs before Siraj came back to get Livingstone out. Tim David provided a good finish to take them to a sub-par but respectable 169/8.
In response, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan came out hell-bent on scoring quickly, even adapting innovative shots for it. Gill got out for 14 but Sudharsan found his tempo and avoided any further mishaps against the early movement with the new ball for RCB. He got out to Josh Hazlewood in the 13th over but till that time, Buttler was set at the other end.
The English wicketkeeper batter and Sherfane Rutherford combined for a stunningly quick 63-run stand which finished the game off.
GT’s win kept them at the same spot — fourth — in the table but increased the gap between them and Mumbai Indians with an extra win and almost 0.5 NRR points. The defeat almost halved RCB’s NRR from +2.266 before the match to +1.149 now, bringing them down from the top spot to third.
RCB’s fall opened the way for Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings, who registered a big win over Lucknow Super Giants the other night, to jump to the top. Delhi Capitals, who also have the perfect record with two wins from as many matches, are placed second. The two franchises who haven’t won the league even once now have a difference of less than 0.2 NRR points between them and would like to maintain their spots going forward.
