English all-rounder Moeen Ali, who is representing Kolkata Knight Riders (KRR) in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL), revealed his all-time IPL XI.

He named former West Indies batter Chris Gayle and India’s Virat Kohli as opening batsmen. Among these two openers, Ali described Gayle as one of the most dangerous T20 batters in history and Kohli as the best chase master in the world.
At number three, he has gone with none other than former Mumbai Indians all-rounder Kieron Pollard. Ali has selected two Caribbean and two Indian all-rounders in the middle order – Andre Russell, Hardik Pandya, Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja. He said that these players can change the course of the match with the bat as well as the ball.
The former English player though decided to name Mahendra Singh Dhoni as captain and wicket-keeper of the side.
Ali chose South African Kagiso Rabada apart alongside Indian star pacer Jasprit Bumrah as a fast bowler. He then named placed the responsibility of the spin department on the shoulders of Rashid Khan.
