'Mumbai Ke Pass!': Axar Patel's Hilarious Response To Murali Kartik's Query
Axar Patel reckons that Delhi Capitals lost the game due to a few soft dismissals despite being in control of the chase at one stage.

Delhi Capitals looked set for their fourth win on the trot against Mumbai Indians. Karun Nair produced a brilliant innings – 89 off 40 – to set the base in chase of 206 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the national capital. However, from 135/2, DC slipped to 193-all out as MI secured a hard-fought 12-run win to end the Axar Patel-led side’s unbeaten run in IPL 2025.
DC‘s epic collapse including a hat-trick of runouts in the 19th over. Needing 23 to win from 12 deliveries with three wickets remaining, Ashutosh Sharma struck two fours in a row off Jasprit Bumrah. However, he was run out off the fourth delivery after having made 17.

New batter Kuldeep Yadav then was run out as well while going for a second run and then MI’s Mitchell Santner hit the bullseye to have Mohit Sharma run out for a duck to complete a dramatic turnaround.
Axar was then asked by broadcaster Murali Kartik during a post-match interview where’d the match go.
“Disappointment dikh raha hai aapki shakal par. Kahaan gaya match aapke hisab say? (You look disappointed. Where did you think the match go?)," Kartik asked.
Axar, who was smiling, responded, “Mumbai ke pass! (The match went to Mumbai)."
Kartik then asked at what point did the match slip from DC’s grasp.
“We had the game. I think we had soft dismissals from the middle order, some bad shots. We lost by 12 runs with an over to go, so we could have still won it. It can’t happen that your lower-order batters will always come and save you in chases," Axar said.
When asked if DC panicked during the chase, Axar agreed.
“You can say that. This happens. You can’t expect the lower order batters to bail you out. There are some odd days where you play wrong shots, so I don’t think there’s any point thinking too much about it," he said.
Axar felt the target was achievable but pointed out that if DC’s catching was better, MI could’ve been limited to a lower total.
“I thought 205 was a great target because it was a good pitch and dew was also coming. Maybe if we had caught better, we’d have kept them to a lower score," he said.
Axar praised DC spinners, especially Kuldeep Yadav who finished with impressive figures of 2/23 from four overs.
“I get confidence in bowling all three (Kuldeep, Vipraj Nigam and himself) of our spinners, and two of the three can also bowl in the powerplay. Kuldeep is bowling unbelievably this season. Whenever I need a wicket, I can go to him. I think there were a lot of positives today — we just need to forget about this game," he said.
