Not Delhi Capitals! Ambati Rayudu Predicts Top-Four Teams Of IPL 2025
With six wins from eight matches played so far, Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals sit at the No. 2 position in the IPL 2025 points table.

The ongoing 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has crossed the halfway mark, and as of now, all 10 teams are still alive in the race to qualify for the playoffs. With 12 points each from eight matches played so far, Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals take the top two positions in the league stage, and they are followed by Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants, who have 10 points each to their credit.
Former Indian batter Ambati Rayudu, who has now donned the hat of an expert, in a recent video shared by Star Sports on X, has made his predictions for the top four teams of the IPL this year. According to Rayudu, who won three IPL titles each with the Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings during his association as a player in the world’s richest franchise, GT, PBKS, RCB and MI will finish in the top four and qualify for the playoffs.

Rayudu surprisingly left Delhi Capitals out, who are in red-hot form these days. Playing under Axar Patel’s captaincy, the national capital-based franchise has won six out of eight matches so far.
In their last IPL 2025 match played on Tuesday, April 22, Delhi Capitals rode on fifties from Abishek Porel and KL Rahul to chase down the target of 160 runs against Lucknow Super Giants and win the match by 8 wickets.
Apart from Rayudu, former India Test captain Anil Kumble, Australia’s T20 World Cup-winning team captain Aaron Finch, former South African wicketkeeper Mark Boucher, former Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha and middle-order batter Mohammad Kaif also picked their top-four teams.
While Kumble voted for GT, DC, MI, and PBKS/RCB as his top four sides, Finch backed GT, DC, MI, and LSG to qualify for the playoffs. According to Boucher, GT, DC, RCB and MI will play in the playoffs, and according to Kaif, GT, DC, RCB and PBKS will finish in the top four.
