Smith seemed to save his best against India in ODIs. He scored 1,383 runs in 30 matches against them – the most he managed against a single opponent. This includes five centuries and seven half-centuries. Notably, Smith has only one world cup century to his name and that came against India in the semifinal of the 2015 edition.

Two ODI World Cup Trophies
Smith won the ODI World Cup as a player twice – once under the captaincy of Clarke in 2015 when Australia were also the co-hosts and then under Pat Cummins when the tournament was held in India in 2023.
