Following a devastating terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam region, the Indian cricketing landscape has come to a standstill, with the ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar strongly condemning the horrific incident, while urging the nation to stand united with those affected.

On April 22 (Tuesday), a devastating militant attack occurred in the Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam, Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir, about 30 miles southeast of Srinagar. The horrific attack left at least 16 dead and 17 injured.

    Amid widespread international grief and condemnation, Indian cricketing icons, including the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, have expressed profound sympathy and solidarity with the victims and their families.

    “Shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic attacks on innocent people in Pahalgam. The affected families must be going through an unimaginable ordeal – India and the world stand united with them at this dark hour, as we mourn the loss of lives and pray for justice," Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar posted on Instagram.

    The BCCI also took to social media to voice out their solidarity for the victims in this hour of need.

    Former England cricketer, Kevin Pietersen, who is a mentor on the IPL franchise Delhi Capitals, too, condemned the horrific act and said, “I see flags flying at half mast in Delhi today and rightly so. Despicable what happened in Kashmir yesterday! My thoughts are with all those who lost their lives and their families and friends!"

      The Jammu and Kashmir government announced ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh each for the families of the deceased, Rs 2 lakh for those seriously injured, and Rs 1 lakh for those with minor injuries.
