Kuldeep Yadav struck in his first ball to remove Rachin Ravindra in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final.

Kuldeep Yadav delivered a stunning first-ball wicket to remove the in-form Rachin Ravindra during the ICC Champions Trophy final being held in Dubai on Sunday.
Being introduced into the attack in the 11th over, the left-arm wrist spinner had an instant impact, deceiving the batter with a fine googly crashing onto the stumps. The wicket was an important one for the Indian team, considering that Ravindra has been in fine form throughout the tournament and looked set for a big score.

India did not have an ideal start with the ball as the opening pair of Ravindra and Will Young attacked the pace duo of Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya. In Pandya’s second over, the opening pair went on to hammer 16 runs as well to put the Kiwis in front.
But Varun Chakaravarthy got the first wicket by removing Will Young in the sixth over of the innings. Kuldeep followed suit with the wicket of Ravindra as well.

Questions were asked of the wrist-spinner who only made his return to international cricket after picking up a groin injury. But the experience came through as Kuldeep went on to get the big breakthrough for the Indian team.
At the toss, Rohit Sharma revealed that their combinations remain unchanged, while the Kiwis made just one change with Matt Henry being ruled out and Nathan Smith coming in his place. India is the only unbeaten side in the tournament, having won all their games till the final. Just like the T20 World Cup 2024, Rohit Sharma and Co. will look to go all the way and take their second ICC title under his captaincy.
