Only four days after hitting India’s winning runs in the 2025 Champions Trophy, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is already back to his second ‘home’, Chennai.

IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) shared a video of him joining the team’s pre-IPL 2025 season camp with a bat and pad, speaking to the media team about his feelings and then having a hit in the nets to start the preparations. One of the first things he mentioned was that he was looking forward to meeting ‘Thala the boss’, MS Dhoni, and reuniting with his long-term teammate and bowling partner Ravichandran Ashwin.

“Feeling very good to be, you know, back home. Very excited to be with the team and looking forward to meeting the one and only Thala," Jadeja said in the video. “Thala the boss! Ash, you know, I love spending time with him. And I also try and get what he’s thinking, how he goes about his game. So, always look forward to talking to him, and getting some important tips from him. It’s good, you know, being [his] bowling partner and always having a good time with him."

CSK then also shared a wholesome photo of Jadeja’s meet-up with Ashwin.

Dhoni hasn’t been with CSK in the last few days as he was spotted in Mussorie attending the wedding ceremony of Rishabh Pant’s sister. He was spotted leaving from the Dehradun airport on Thursday.

This is the first time Ashwin and Jadeja would have met since the former retired from international cricket during the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Jadeja had later said that even he didn’t know Ashwin was going to call time on his career after the third Test at the Gabba.

“I got to know about Ashwin’s retirement at the last moment," Jadeja said. “Someone told me 5 minutes before his press conference. So obviously I felt [shocked] because we sat together all day and he didn’t even give a hint. But everyone knows Ashwin and how his mind works!"
