It’s been over two decades since Divyanka Tripathi entered the industry. The actress, in a recent chat, took a trip down memory lane, admitting that she struggled with depression in the initial stages of her career. She called her first programme the “traumatic show of her life".
In an interview with Hindi Rush, Divyanka said, “Mera first show was the traumatic show of my life. Tab yeh depression ka concept nahi pata tha (My first show was the traumatic show of my life. At that time, we were not aware of depression)."
Further, she noted that the exposure on social media has made people more aware of the situation. The actress added, “They say that ignorance is bliss. Maybe because I did not know that I was going through depression, that is why I did not take it seriously, and I came out of it. But that was a phase of mine when my friends and I used to talk in a room, and as soon as she would mention the names of one or two people, I would start crying."
Divyanka Tripathi was last seen in The Magic Of Shiri, streaming on Jio Hotstar. Set in 1996 in Delhi, the show chronicles the journey of a woman who faces obstacles after she decides to reinvent herself as a stage magician. The show also features Jaaved Jafferi, Namit Das, Parmeet Sethi, Pitabhash Tripathi, Neelu Kohli and Darshan Zareewala in pivotal roles.
