Liverpool skipper Virgil Van Dijk said there was no definite news on his contract extension with contract at Anfield coming to an end at the close of the ongoing season. The Dutchman has been a stalwart at the back for the Reds in recent years since his arrival at The Kop from Southampton as he helped Jurgen Klopp establish his legacy at Merseyside and serves as a trusted man on the field for Arne Solt.
“I still have no idea at the moment. Genuinely," Van Dijk said.

“At the moment, I don’t even know what will happen next year. If anyone says they do know, they are lying to your face," he added.
“Everyone knows there are some conversations behind the scenes, but that is about it," the Dutchman said.
Liverpool are 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, and Slot remains on course for a title in his debut season in England. Van Dijk said he was completely focused on the remainder of the season.
“It is not on hold. Nothing on hold," he added.
“Listen, there are 10 games to go and that is my full focus," the 33-year-old said.
“If there is news, you guys will know it. I don’t even know myself," the towering defender revealed.
Liverpool were handed an upset as PSG turned things around in the second leg of the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday to dump the English side out of the elite European competition. Van Dijk said he was proud of his men’s performance despite the exit and that the PL outfit look to take lessons from the disappointment after they had seized a first-leg advantage.
“You always have to learn from difficult moments. That’s life. That’s life of any human being, but us footballers as well," he said.
“There were things we could have done better, but overall I am proud of the performance we put in," the captain stated.
“We have to feel the disappointment, but if we bring this intensity in Wembley with our fans, then I am positive," Van Dijk said.
“There are not many games left and there are two big prizes we can still get. We are going to give it everything," he signed off
