In a bid to tackle corruption, the Uttar Pradesh Police has forcibly retired Sub-Inspector Ishrat Ali Khan. The decision was made by IG Bareilly, following a recommendation from the SSP

The Uttar Pradesh Police force is taking action to address concerns about corruption, ineffectiveness, and complacency within its ranks. Officers aged 50 and above who are deemed negligent or unfit for duty are being subject to mandatory retirement.

One such sub-inspector, Ishrat Ali Khan, was forcibly retired in Bareilly. Despite receiving several warnings and facing punitive action, Khan’s attitude remained unchanged. Subsequently, IG Bareilly, Dr. Rakesh Singh, took action, forcibly retiring Inspector Ishrat Ali Khan. This action has created a stir in the police department.

    According to reports SSP Bareilly had recommended the forced retirement of Ishrat Ali Khan to IG Dr. Rakesh Singh. Acting upon this recommendation, IG Bareilly terminated Khan’s police service.

      It has also been reported that police officials had issued several warnings to Inspector Ishrat Ali. Despite facing punitive action on multiple occasions, Sub-Inspector Ishrat Ali Khan’s professional conduct did not improve. During this period, Inspector Ishrat Ali’s salary was cut on three occasions, and disciplinary action was taken against him eleven times.

      Following the action taken against Ishrat Ali Khan, there is widespread concern among corrupt and ineffective officers within the police department. It is reported that disciplinary measures may be taken against numerous other police personnel.
