A BJP leader was killed in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district on Monday after three unidentified assailants allegedly injected him with a poisonous substance, the police said.
Gulfam Singh Yadav, 60, was sitting at his farm in Daftara village under Junawai police station limits when three bike-borne men approached him and injected him with a substance before fleeing, said Gunnaur Circle Officer Deepak Tiwari.

The three men arrived under the guise of meeting Yadav. They sat with him, inquired about his health, requested water, and drank it.
As Yadav lay down after serving them water, they seized the opportunity, and one of them injected poison into his stomach, according to a report.
The BJP leader screamed in pain as his health began to deteriorate. The locals reached the spot and rushed him to a nearby hospital. However, he died on the way.
“Yadav was being taken to Aligarh for treatment but died on the way. So far, no formal complaint has been received from the victim’s family. A police team has been deployed to investigate the case," CO Tiwari added.
The post-mortem at Aligarh Medical College did not confirm the cause of death, leading officials to preserve Yadav’s viscera (organs of his body) for further examination.
SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi, ASP Anukriti Sharma, and a police team arrived at the scene, where forensic experts gathered evidence, including an empty injection and a helmet.
Bishnoi stated that CCTV footage is being reviewed, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspects.
