'I Smoke Ganja, Many Sadhus Do So': Viral IIT Baba Booked Under Narcotics Law, Let Off On Bail
The 'IIT Baba' was booked for alleged possession of ganja but was granted bail in the case. He confessed that he consumes cannabis.

Abhay Singh, who rose to prominence as ‘IIT Baba’ during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, on Monday refuted the reports of his detention due to the recovery of ganja (marijuana) from his possession in Jaipur and said that he was granted bail immediately.
Earlier, reports surfaced that he was detained after ganja was found in his possession.

Police Recover Cannabis From IIT Baba
The Jaipur Police issued a statement, stating that they received information about a suicide incident at Hotel Park Prime in the city, after which they rushed to the place. They found a packet of cannabis with Abhay Singh, weighing around 1.50 grams. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered against the viral Baba.
The ‘IIT Baba’ confessed to consuming cannabis but was released on bail as it was within the permissible limit, the police said.
Speaking to News18 India, ‘IIT Baba’ said, “I smoke cannabis, but I’m not the only one – many sadhus consume it. If the police consider it a crime, so be it".
He further said that a lot of fake news was being spread about him, which is why he visited Jaipur to set up his own channel.
IIT Baba Claimed Assault Recently
Recently, the IIT Baba alleged that he was assaulted in a news debate show of a private news channel in Noida on Friday.
He complained to the police that he was beaten with sticks by some saffron-clad people who entered the newsroom.
He also sat outside the police outpost in Sector 126, however, withdrew the protest later after the police convinced him.
