IMD Warns of Heavy Rainfall in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat Today; Intense Spells Likely in Parts of Mumbai

Around 3 pm on Thursday, the IMD said moderate to intense spells of rain were very likely to occur at isolated places in Mumbai during the next three to four hours.

The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of extremely heavy rainfall in some areas of coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Telangana on Thursday and Friday (July 18 and 19). The same has also been forecast for some parts of Karnataka and Gujarat.

Issuing a red warning, the IMD weather forecast said that isolated extremely heavy rainfall is very likely over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra,

    Telangana from July 18 to 20, South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka, Gujarat State, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on July 18 and 19, Tamil Nadu on July 18, Vidarbha, south Chhattisgarh on July 19 and 20 and south Odisha on July 19.

    Meanwhile, the weather body has also predicted very heavy rainfall in parts of Himachal Pradesh on July 21 and Uttarakhand on July 21 and 22.

    Moderate to Intense Spells of Rain in Delhi And Mumbai Today

    Around 3 pm on Thursday, the IMD said moderate to intense spells of rain were very likely to occur at isolated places in Mumbai during the next three to four hours.

    The IMD also said that light to moderate rainfall accompanied with light thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur at many places of Delhi ( Badili, Model Town, Civil Lines, Mundaka, Seelampur, Shahadra, Nazafgarh), NCR ( Bahadurgarh, Dadri, Greater Noida) during the next 2 hours.

    Rains in Northeast India

    The IMD weather forecast said heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya between July 20 and 22.
