IRCTC is the digital arm of the Indian Railways that provides multiple channels for passengers to book e-tickets through website, smartphone apps and SMS.
A report in Hindustan Times stated that the corporation suggested that passengers looking to cancel their tickets could do so by either calling customer care or emailing their ticket details for a Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR).
The contact details provided by IRCTC for cancellation assistance are: Customer Care Numbers: 14646, 08044647999, 08035734999; Email: etickets@irctc.co.in

A report in Times of India stated that many passengers even alleged potential manipulation of the booking system. Multiple users reported that once the service resumed, only premium-priced tickets remained available at double the standard rates, the publication mentioned.
“When you open again all tatkal tickets get booked but only premium tickets with double prices are available," one user was quoted by TOI. The report stated that the user tagged Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and the Prime Minister’s Office on X while raising his complaint.
This marks the second time in December that the Raliways e-portal has faced a disruption, raising concerns among regular users.
