'Ran For Life': Woman Shares Terrifying Cab Experience In Gurgaon, Says SOS Feature Didn't Work
The woman said that the incident was brough before the cab customer service, which has not responded to the complaint for the last 24 hours.

A Delhi-based woman recently shared her terrifying experience during a cab ride in Haryana’s Gurugram, alleging that the driver stopped the car for strangers and the in-built SOS feature didn’t work during the incident.
She slammed the cab aggregator for its lack of accountability and claimed that the driver was unresponsive when she questioned why he had stopped the car. The incident occurred on December 20 at 1:30 pm when the woman booked a cab through OLA.

Shazia A, who works as a senior manager at Genpact, took to Linkedin to share her “nightmarish" experience with OLA cab and said that the driver “inexplicably slowed down the cab" near National Media Centre after crossing the toll and several men gathered around it.
“I had a nightmarish experience with OLA CAB yesterday on my way to Gurgaon. Sharing this incident hoping to raise awareness about the safety concerns that passengers, especially women, might encounter while using these cab services," she said in a LinkedIn post.
She said that after crossing the toll booth, she noticed two men signalling the cab to stop at the left of the roadside. “Shockingly, the driver complied, parking the car as per their instructions," the woman added.
When she questioned the driver, he didn’t respond, the woman claimed, adding that the situation worsened when two more men came near the vehicle, making it a total of five (including the driver).
She said that the driver mentioned a pending loan instalment, which left her terrified. “I responded that his matters were not my concern and insisted he continue the trip. Instead, the men began to approach the cab."
“Feeling unsafe, I opened the right-side door and ran for my life. It was an extremely traumatic experience, and I cannot emphasize enough how terrified I felt," she said in her post.
“To make matters worse, when I tried to use the SOS button on the Ola app, it did not work," she further wrote.
She added about bringing the incident before the Ola customer service, which has not responded to the complaint for the last 24 hours. The woman urged Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal to respond to the issue and take action to “ensure passenger safety is never compromised."
