Reliance Foundation founder chairperson Nita Ambani has been conferred with the prestigious Governor’s Citation by Maura Healey, Governor of Massachusetts, recognising her as a “visionary leader, compassionate philanthropist, and true global changemaker".
The citation honours Ambani’s lifelong dedication to transformative impact across education, healthcare, sports, arts, culture, and women’s empowerment – touching millions of lives in India and beyond.

For this special occasion in Boston, Ambani once again championed India’s rich artistic heritage by adorning a stunning handwoven Shikargah Banarasi saree, a masterpiece of Indian craftsmanship featuring the intricate Kadwa weaving technique and traditional Konya design.
THE RECOGNITION
Recently, Ambani was awarded the prestigious ‘Outstanding Contribution to Brand India’ at the 20th edition of the India Business Leader Awards (IBLA).
The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), too, had honoured Ambani with the 2023 Global Leadership Award for Philanthropy and Corporate Social Responsibility.
As an IOC member, she played a key role in bringing the International Olympic Committee session to India after a gap of 40 years. The IOC session is the supreme decision-making body of the Olympic movement.
NITA AMBANI’S SAREE LOVE
Meanwhile, Ambani is known for her love for sarees. Recently, she appeared in an interview with Haslinda Amin on Bloomberg Television. The saree came with intricate golden zari floral embroidery on the borders and delicate golden floral motifs dotted throughout the saree.
She was also seen draped in a custom-made, traditional Kanchipuram silk saree, woven by National Award-winning master artisan B. Krishnamoorthy, at US President-Elect Donald Trump’s private reception ahead of his swearing-in ceremony in Washington.
