Saif Ali Khan Attacker Stole Diamond Ring At Mumbai Pub, Was Sacked From Work
Investigations into the Saif Ali Khan attack case have revealed that accused Shehzad had earlier been involved in a diamond ring theft. He is presently in police custody as probe continues.

Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, who was arrested for allegedly attacking actor Saif Ali Khan at his Mumbai residence in the wee hours of January 16, was earlier involved in a theft case, investigations have revealed.
According to the details, the accused used to work at a restaurant and pub in the Worli area via a contractor, where he stole a diamond ring, allegedly belonging to one of the customers, in August last year.

The incident had come to light after the owner of the ring filed a police complaint and various CCTV cameras were scanned. As Shehzad was found in possession of the ring, he was fired from his job at the pub.
Thirty-year-old Shehzad, a Bangladeshi native, was arrested on Sunday morning from neighbouring Thane city.
Later, a court remanded him in police custody for five days.
Now, the police are expected to recreate the crime scene at the Bandra home of Saif Ali Khan, who was repeatedly stabbed.
News agency PTI quoted an official as saying that Shehzad would be taken to Khan’s home to recreate the crime scene as part of their investigation.
Shehzad sneaked into the Bollywood star’s apartment in the early hours of January 16 with the intention of theft, police had said.
Preliminary investigation suggests that he climbed the stairs to the seventh-eighth floor of the building where Khan and his actor wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, live with their children and domestic staff.
“He entered the duct area, climbed to the 12th floor using a pipe and entered the actor’s flat through a bathroom window. He then came out from the bathroom, where the actor’s staff spotted him, leading to the chain of events that culminated into the knife attack," an official had said earlier.
The 54-year-old actor was stabbed multiple times in the attack, after which he underwent a five-hour surgery at nearby Lilavati Hospital.
