Located just 500 meters from the Kanyakumari bus station, entry to this museum is only 20 rupees. Thus, tourists from India and abroad visiting Kanyakumari can explore the museum to learn various details about the district.

Professor Baby from a private college in Nagercoil stated, “For the past few years, we have been sending our students to various government museums for practical training, including the Kanyakumari Government Museum. While everyone knows Kanyakumari as a tourist spot, the government museum there holds numerous artefacts that preserve its ancient heritage.

The museum displays items and geographical artefacts related to the Lemurian continent where ancient Tamils lived, known as Kumari Kandam. Although it is difficult to find clear images of the Lemurian continent elsewhere, the museum provides detailed representations, including a clear map showing how the vast Kumari Kandam lies submerged under the ocean."
