The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) received a record hundi income of Rs 1,365 crore in 2024. The hundi income was Rs 1,391.86 crore in 2023 and Rs 1,291.69 crore in 2022.
Devotees of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala present offerings in the form of cash, coins, gold, silver, and foreign currencies. These offerings are separated and counted at the new Parakamani building near the Sri Varaha Swamy temple. The hundi is transferred from the Srivari temple to this facility, where coins and cash are counted, while gold, silver, and other valuables are securely stored in specially arranged lockers. These items are moved to the TTD treasury in Tirupati once a month.

The TTD has prepared an estimated budget of Rs 5,141.74 crore for the financial year 2024-25, with projected hundi gifts of Rs. 1,611 crore and interest income of Rs 1,167 crore. Key allocations include Rs 1,773 crore for human resources, covering salaries and allowances, and Rs 350 crore for engineering works, indicating a focus on infrastructure development.
Additionally, Rs 108.50 crore is earmarked for Hindu Dharma Prachar Parishad projects, promoting Hindu culture and traditions, while Rs 113.50 crore is allocated for various institutions under the TTD.
Furthermore, Rs 50 crore is contributed to state government funds, representing the organisation’s support for state government initiatives.
These allocations reflect the TTD’s priorities, balancing employee welfare, infrastructure development, and cultural promotion.
Other revenue streams include Rs 151.50 crore from headscarves offered in the Kalyanakatta and Rs 147 crore from rooms and Kalyana Mandapam allocations.
The TTD deposited 1,031 kg of gold in the bank in 2023-24. In total, TTD has deposited 11,329 kg of gold in the bank. TTD officials have revealed that 4,000 kg of gold has been deposited in the bank in the past three years.
