While some fruits can be enjoyed daily, others should be consumed in moderation. Daily consumption of papaya, for instance, a fruit available year-round, could be detrimental to one’s health.

According to an interview conducted by Local18 with a doctor, regular papaya intake can lead to stomach issues and indigestion.

    Senior Ayurveda doctor, Dr Vinay Khullar, Principal of Kaya Ayurveda Medical College, said that one should not consume papaya daily because it contains excessive fibre, which can cause constipation. He explained that some people have a sensitive digestive system and may experience gas and indigestion from eating papaya daily. Additionally, consuming excessive papaya can lead to stomach pain and other digestive problems. Therefore, it should be eaten in moderation.

    Dr Khullar emphasised that papaya should be consumed in the right quantity. When eaten in moderation, papaya’s fibre and papain enzymes can improve digestion. Eating papaya on an empty stomach in the morning cleanses the stomach and provides relief from constipation.
