Aarya Babbar Claims Prateik Babbar Didn’t Invite Dad Raj Babbar To His Wedding: 'Someone Has Overpowered His Brain'

Prateik Babbar is all set to tie the knot with actor Priya Banerjee on Friday, but the wedding has been overshadowed by family controversy. His half-brother Aarya Babbar has claimed that their father, veteran actor Raj Babbar, has not been invited to the celebrations.
In a recent interview, Aarya expressed his disappointment and confusion over the exclusion, stating that he always believed he and Prateik shared a strong bond. However, rather than blaming his brother directly, he suggested that someone may be influencing Prateik’s decisions, leading him to distance himself from the Babbar family.

Aarya told ETimes, “I presume someone has overpowered his brain too much. He is not wanting to connect with anyone from this side of the family. He has decided not to call anyone." Despite his disappointment, Aarya said he is trying to give Prateik the benefit of the doubt. However, he expressed surprise that their father, Raj Babbar, was not invited, stating that even if Prateik had chosen to exclude other family members, his father should have been included.
He added, “Life is no less than a film; someone in the house is influencing him. I don’t want to think it is Prateik, and I don’t think he is like that."
Prateik Babbar is the son of late actress Smita Patil and Raj Babbar. The couple met on the sets of their 1982 film Bheegi Palkein, and Raj left his first wife, Nadira Babbar, to marry Smita. However, tragedy struck when Smita passed away due to childbirth complications at the age of 31, shortly after giving birth to Prateik in November 1986. Raj Babbar later reunited with Nadira and has two children with her, Aarya and Juhi Babbar.
This marks Prateik’s second marriage, as he was previously married to Sanya Sagar. The couple parted ways just one year after tying the knot and officially divorced in January 2023. While Prateik and Priya Banerjee’s wedding should be a joyous occasion, the ongoing family tensions have added an unexpected layer of drama to the celebrations.
