Arjun Kapoor Praises Hulu’s Deli Boys, Calls It A ‘Total Riot’
The actor shared a poster of the series and wrote what aspects of the story appealed to him the most.
The brand new Hulu series Deli Boys is making a lot of buzz for its new perspective on the crime comedy genre. Directed by Abdullah Saeed, the 10-episode series premiered on March 6. While the show is getting a positive response from audiences, actor Arjun Kapoor recently had the chance to watch it and is all praises. The actor shared a poster of the series on his Instagram stories and wrote what aspects of the story appealed to him the most.
The poster features the lead actors Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh and Poorna Jagannathan. Along with it, Arjun wrote, “Just watched Deli Boys on Jiohotstar, and I have to say this one’s a total riot! It’s got: Sharp humor that keeps you hooked, a wild family business plot, characters who feel real, Desi chaos meets crime & comedy, Top-tier performances that make every moment fun to watch. The season focuses on two Pakistani American brothers named Mir Dar (Asif Ali) and Raj Dar (Saagar Shaikh), who discover their father Arshad “Baba" Dar’s (Iqbal Theba) covert drug enterprise in Philadelphia following his untimely death. They manage the illicit enterprise with the assistance of one of Baba’s closest confidantes, Lucky (Poorna Jagannathan), all while keeping their actions hidden from their loved ones. Speaking about his role Saagar Shaikh told NBC News, “We’ve never seen this type of person on TV before, and while we know they exist, it’s rare to see it on such a big scale."
Meanwhile, Arjun became well-known for his portrayal in the action drama flick Singham Again. Rohit Shetty directed the film, which also starred Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Ranveer Singh, and Akshay Kumar in lead parts. The movie, which was released in November of last year, was a huge success.
He most recently appeared in the comedy-drama film Mere Husband Ki Wife, with Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh. The film, directed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Pooja Entertainment opened in theaters on February 21.
