BTS’s Jungkook has once again shown his generosity by donating a staggering 1 billion KRW (approximately $680,000 USD) to support wildfire relief efforts in South Korea. Despite currently serving his mandatory military service, the K-pop superstar has made one of the largest known contributions for this cause.

On March 28, the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association announced that Jungkook had donated 1 billion KRW to aid relief efforts in the Gyeongbuk and Gyeongnam regions, where devastating wildfires have wreaked havoc in recent days. This donation is the highest amount contributed by any public figure since the wildfires began earlier this week.

Of Jungkook’s generous donation, 500 million KRW will be allocated to assist people who have lost their homes due to the wildfire, helping them rebuild and recover. The remaining 500 million KRW will be used to improve the working conditions of firefighters who are relentlessly battling the flames. The funds will provide these frontline heroes with better resources and ensure they receive the recognition they deserve, as reported by AllKpop.

Jungkook’s philanthropic efforts are not new. In 2023, the Seven singer donated 1 billion KRW to Seoul National University Children’s Hospital to fund medical treatment for children from low-income families. His contribution also helped support the hospital’s integrated care centre, ensuring essential healthcare services for vulnerable children.

Jungkook isn’t the only BTS member contributing to wildfire relief efforts. Earlier this week, J-Hope, SUGA, and RM also extended their support. Each member donated 100 million KRW (around $68,000 USD) to aid those affected by the devastating fires. J-Hope and RM directed their donations to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association, while SUGA contributed to the Korean Red Cross.

Jungkook’s remarkable act of kindness is being widely praised by fans and netizens alike, who have lauded the singer for using his platform to bring positive change.
