Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh performed at the Sarusajai Sports Complex in Guwahati, as part of his Dil-Luminati Tour 2024 on Sunday. He dedicated his recent show to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who passed away on Thursday. He shared a video on Instagram, in which he is seen paying a moving tribute to the former PM, calling him a man of grace. He also recalled one of Manmohan Singh’s most famous poetic statements.

During the concert, Diljit said, “Today’s concert is dedicated to former late Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He led a very simple life. He never used to answer back or talk ill which is quite impossible in a profession like politics". He then went on to recite a shayari that was once used by Manmohan Singh: ‘Hazaron jawabo se meri khamoshi acchi, na jane kitne sawalo ki aabru dhak leti hai". He added that this is something the youth, including himself, should learn.

“Humein koi kitna bhi bura bole, bhatkaane ki koshish kare, aapka lakshya clear hona chahiye. Aap focused hone chahiye aapke kaam ko leke. Kyunki jo aapko bura bol raha hai, who bhi bhagwaan ka roop hain, sirf aapka test ho raha hai ki aap uske reaction kaise karte hain. (No matter what someone says, your focus should solely be on your goal. Because the one who is speaking badly to you is also a form of God, and it’s a test to see how you react to it)," said Diljit. He further added that Manmohan Singh was the first Sikh who had his signature imprinted on the Indian currency. Sharing the video of his tribute to the former PM, Diljit Dosanjh wrote, “Today’s Concert is dedicated to Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji DIL-LUMINATI TOUR Year 24."

Reacting to Diljit’s video, one fan wrote, “Ek hi dil hai, paaji, kitni baar jeetoge? Pyaar hi pyaar, respect hi respect!" while another one commented, “Indirect answer to AP dhillion," referencing the singer’s feud with AP Dhillon.

Meanwhile, Diljit Dosanjh will conclude the India leg of Dil-Luminati tour in Ludhiana on December 31st. He began his India tour from Delhi in October, post which he performed in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Indore, Chandigarh, and Mumbai.
