India can host events even bigger than the Coachella Festival in California, famous Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh told Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a friendly and thoughtful meeting on Thursday. The PM praised Diljit for staying grounded despite achieving immense success and a meteoric rise to fame, sources said.

The meeting has become the talk of the town after the Prime Minister released a video of it. Sources revealed that Dosanjh spoke about his Dil-Luminati Tour and how his concerts showcased the diversity of Indian culture and what “Mera Bharat Mahan" truly means. Dosanjh has recently completed a whirlwind tour across the country as part of the tour.

    PM Modi mentioned to Dosanjh that travel has historically been significant for leaders like Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, whose journeys across India shaped their perspectives and goals.

    When Dosanjh suggested that India could host events even bigger than the Coachella Festival, the PM told him about the WAVES initiative, aimed at making India a global hub for creative and entertainment content.

    The PM also remarked that Diljit has been winning hearts worldwide, which is true to his name. Diljit, in turn, admired the PM’s leadership and his ability to manage a nation as diverse as India.

    With a smile, Dosanjh shared a lighthearted memory from his visit to Gujarat’s Gift City, where he enjoyed mouthwatering jalebi and fafda, adding to the delightful experience.

    The conversation took a musical turn when Dosanjh hummed his song in reverence to Guru Nanak, with PM Modi tapping his fingers on the table in rhythm. Dosanjh had released this song in 2021.

    Dosanjh and Modi also discussed the legendary band The Beatles and how they were inspired by Indian culture.

    The PM also recounted a story about the Gurudwara in Lakhpat, Kutch, which had been damaged in an earthquake. He shared how much the Gurudwara meant to him and how, as Chief Minister, he fulfilled his promise to restore it.

    Diljit mentioned that he had watched an interview of PM Modi in which the PM became emotional while speaking about his mother and Maa Ganga. Diljit noted that the PM’s words seemed heartfelt and genuine. He also reflected on how people often forget that leaders, even in high positions, experience deep emotions.

    The two also discussed India’s environmental ethos of reusing and recycling, which could serve as an inspiration to the world. PM Modi highlighted the success of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" initiative and emphasized the global impact of yoga, among other topics.
